STUTTERING IN CHILD

STUTTERING IN CHILD

Preschoolers, generally between 3 to 5 years of age, may start stammering. The cause in large majority of the cases is the neurotic attitude of the mother. It is an indication of the conflict in child’s personality. No treatment is generally needed. If stuttering persists, breath control exercises and miniaturized metronome that is of value in pacing the rhythm of speech need to be resorted to under care of a speech therapist.
